DRAWING FROM LINE TO LIFE - the ONLY book I own by Rick-Kills-Pencils DRAWING FROM LINE TO LIFE - the ONLY book I own by Rick-Kills-Pencils
"DRAWING FROM LINE TO LIFE" by Mike Sibley is the is the ONLY drawing book I own. I HIGHLY recommend it!

When I first started drawing again (after 30 years) I ran across this book on the web, and liked what I read online, so I ordered it. I later ended up taking his workshop in 2009 when he toured the USA. Don't be misled that it seems to be about drawing dogs. That's just his passion. Like he says, "If you can draw well, you can draw ANYTHING". I have found that to be so true! When the book arrived (from England) I read EVERY single word like it was the Bible or something! It covers EVERY aspect of drawing, and I learned SO much from it! I really need to re-read it again. It's THAT good! I get nothing for promoting his book by the way, other than trying to help my fellow artists, in case you were wondering :D:D

One of my dreams is to write a HOW-TO draw portrait book one day, but until then, this book is worth every penny! It's not cheap either. It's about $55 US dollars.

Here is the link to his website: [link]
Take a look at the Contents page! It's covers EVERYTHING!!

Hope you get it!! :D:D

I have this too, Rick. Mike was the first person to put one of my pictures on this interweb thing we all love, on his Starving Artists website. I felt like I had arrived, lol.
Mike is very approachable too, always willing to answer any questions I had.

This book is one of my treasured possessions. I bought this on the day it was published, and have never regretted the purchase. I have read many, many books on drawing and this is the best one in existence.
Like you I treat it as my bible. I have read it several times, from cover to cover, and dip into it when
I need to remind myself of a technique. Expensive it is, but worth every penny, you won't regret buying this book
If you want to draw then along with Rick I highly recommend it, you will never buy another one.
