I was first attracted to drawing this because of it's intense light sources, as well as being an exercise in patience for drawing all the highlighted hair
Mel Gibson and Danny Glover made a great pair, and were of course was very popular in their Lethal Weapon movie and it's sequels.
I used Bristol VELLUM this time, because I find that Vellum responds very well to scratching. I took a nail and a needle, and FIRST scratched out the highlights in the hair area, then drew around them. It was a lot of "negative space" drawing, which I never seem to have the patience for doing?
It did not require much blending at all. The zoom view is actually larger than the drawing, but 600 pixels is too small. I wonder why they don't give us an option at 700 pixels wide???
