Description
NOTE: I have an ENLARGED VIEW here so you can see details and pencil strokes.
I adjusted his jaw line a tad. LOTS more blending work the do in the face, etc, far from done, but wanted to explain some steps in how I personally draw THIS TYPE of hair on this background.
I darkened the right side of the hair and worked it upward toward the lighter top of his head. I used a 2B MECHANICAL pencil for that because it's small enough to draw hair, and you do NOT have to sharpen it!
I added a layer of 2B in the shape of his head and direction of the hair (right side). Then I took a large blending stump and partially blended the 2B layer, careful not to penetrate the tooth of the paper. I also brought some of the shading onto his forehead. This will allow the highlights to be erased out with my kneaded and TUFF STUFF erasers. Still too much hair on the left lower side. Time to tighten that up...
