OMG! I have been taking digital photos of my drawings for the past 1 year. I realized when I got my new all in one printer last summer, that I never tried scanning my drawings. Well, I spent the last 4 hours SCANNING ALL OF MY RECENT DRAWINGS, specifically my FEATURED GALLERY.

This is GREAT!! Now I don't have to wait until morning to take a photo, which means I can easily do STEP tutorials now. Not to mention, I get ALL of the details that are in the original drawing, consistency and CORRECT CONTRAST. I realize now, that a lot of my photos were over contrasted, due to an "auto-enhance" feature in the PhotoSuite software I used to use to adjust my photos.

Have a look and see if you don't see DOUBLE the details now in the drawings in my FEATURED GALLERY?

That looks fantastic, Rick! Wish I could scan mine...but all of mine are 18x24...How the heck do you draw so small? Your pencils must be REALLY sharp.

Size DOES matter! At first, I DID draw too small. Then I drew TOO BIG! Now it's just right? Gawd, I sound like Goldilocks and the 3 bears?!? My rule NOW is, 3 inches from the middle of the eyes to the bottom of chin. So where it's a full face or close up, if I follow this rule, they don't take more than 4-5 hours, and I can still get in plenty of details :D:D:D

A4? Typical pads are 11x14 inches or 8x10 inches. All of my drawings are only about 5x6 inches (14x17cm) :D

I actually do not draw to the size of the paper in the pad. I tear out a page, decide how big the drawing only will be, then I frame out that size on the page. So I NEVER fill an entire page, no matter what size the pad of paper is :D:D:D

that's the right thing to do! but I can't help it! ^^; sometimes I try to keep borders around the drawing but I get excited and sketch all around the paper and fill all (25x35cm)!! lol
